Northrop Grumman secures $48.4 million contract for counter-IED systems

Investing.com -- Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) Systems Corp. has been awarded a $48.4 million contract modification for counter-explosive device systems, with a portion allocated for Australian military sales.
The San Diego-based company received the firm-fixed-price modification to a previously awarded contract for Joint Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare Increment One Block One systems, retrofit kits and spares.
The U.S. Department of Defense announced that work will be performed in San Diego, California, and is expected to be completed by March 2028.
The contract funding comes from multiple sources, with 52% ($25.1 million) from Navy procurement funds, 30% ($14.4 million) from Navy operations and maintenance funds, and 4% ($1.9 million) from Air Force procurement funds.
Additional funding includes 5% ($2.3 million) from Air Force operations and maintenance funds, 6% ($3.2 million) from FBI operations and maintenance funds, and 3% ($1.4 million) from Foreign Military Sales to Australia.
Of the total obligated amount, approximately $19.9 million will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
The Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C. is serving as the contracting activity for this project.
