Northrop Grumman awarded $50 million defense software contract

Investing.com -- Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) Systems Corp. has secured a $50 million contract from the U.S. Department of War for commercial agile software development services.

The McLean, Virginia-based company received the time-and-materials, firm-fixed-price task order to provide direct sustainment and modernization of software development. The work will support the Strategy Mission Planning and Execution, Data Fusion, and Visualization suite of software applications.

The contract work will be performed at two Nebraska locations: Bellevue and Offutt Air Force Base. The project is expected to be completed by October 31, 2031.

The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center's Command and Control Division at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, is serving as the contracting activity for the project, which has been assigned the contract number FA2217-26-F-B001.

According to the Department of War, the contract was awarded through a competitive acquisition process, though only one offer was received. Operations and maintenance funds totaling $685,155 have been obligated at the time of the award.
