Lockheed Martin (LMT) awarded $27.4 million contract for F/A-18 components

Investing.com -- Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has secured a $27.4 million contract from the U.S. Department of Defense to supply components for F/A-18 aircraft.
The undefinitized contract action delivery order was awarded to Lockheed Martin's Orlando, Florida facility for the procurement of seven test controller processors and 10 infrared receivers.
The contract falls under a previously awarded agreement and all work will be performed at the company's Orlando location. The project is scheduled for completion by June 2028.
At the time of the award, the Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania obligated $13.4 million in Navy aircraft procurement funds. These funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
The DoD noted that this was a sole-source requirement under authority 10 U.S. Code 2304 (c)(1), with only one company solicited and one offer received.
