Iran and US continue message exchange over Tehran's 14-point proposal
Investing.com -- Iran's foreign ministry spokesperson said Wednesday that the exchange of messages between Iranian and U.S. officials continues based on Tehran's 14-point proposal. Pakistan's interior minister is currently in Iran to help facilitate the communication between the two sides, according to Iranian media.
The spokesperson told state television that the U.S. must prove its goodwill and end what Iran calls piracy against Iranian ships. Iran is also demanding an end to all fighting, including in Lebanon, and the release of Iranian assets.
The spokesperson stated that Iran is seriously and in good faith pursuing the negotiation path, but holds severe and reasonable suspicion about the U.S. Iran is currently studying the U.S. points of view, the spokesperson added.
