August 13, 2025 4:10 PM EDT

Investing.com -- Google (NASDAQ: GOOGL) announced plans to invest an additional $9 billion in Oklahoma over the next two years, focusing on cloud and AI infrastructure development.

The investment will support the construction of a new data center campus in Stillwater and expand the company's existing facility in Pryor. Google is also committing to education and workforce development programs in the state.

As part of a broader $1 billion commitment to American education and competitiveness, the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University have been included in the first cohort of the Google AI for Education Accelerator, which launched last week. This program provides students at both universities with free access to Google Career Certificates and AI training courses.

Google is also funding a program with the electrical training ALLIANCE aimed at increasing Oklahoma's electrical workforce pipeline by 135%. This initiative will help develop the labor force needed to build new energy infrastructure in the state.

The company stated that these investments will prepare Oklahoma students with critical AI and job-ready skills, creating a talent pipeline to support both Oklahoma's future and America's leadership in artificial intelligence.
