General Dynamics awarded $35 million contract for Littoral Combat Ship

Investing.com -- General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) Mission Systems has been awarded a $34,957,203 contract modification by the U.S. Department of Defense for work on the Littoral Combat Ship program.
The cost-plus-incentive-fee and cost-only modification to a previously awarded contract will fund the sustainment of the Littoral Combat Ship integrated combat management system and associated combat system elements.
Work under the contract will be performed primarily in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, accounting for 85% of the work, with the remaining 15% to be completed in San Diego, California. The project is expected to be completed by August 2029.
The funding for this contract comes from multiple sources within the Navy's budget. This includes $1,717,916 (33%) from fiscal 2025 research, development, test and evaluation funds; $1,623,449 (31%) from other Navy customer funds; $1,171,152 (23%) from fiscal 2025 other procurement funds; and $670,745 (13%) from fiscal 2025 operations and maintenance funds.
The Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C. is serving as the contracting activity for this project. The funds obligated at the time of the award will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
