February 4, 2026 8:04 AM EST

Investing.com -- AbbVie Inc (NYSE: ABBV) reported fourth-quarter earnings and revenue that exceeded analyst expectations, driven by strong performance in its immunology and neuroscience portfolios. The pharmaceutical giant's shares fell 2.5% in premarket trading following the announcement.

The company posted adjusted earnings per share of $2.71 for the fourth quarter, surpassing the analyst estimate of $2.65. Revenue came in at $16.62 billion, above the consensus estimate of $16.39 billion and representing a 10.0% increase YoY on a reported basis, or 9.5% on an operational basis.

AbbVie's immunology portfolio was a key growth driver, with global net revenues reaching $8.63 billion, up 18.3% from the same period last year. Skyrizi led the way with $5.01 billion in sales, a 32.5% increase, while Rinvoq generated $2.37 billion, up 29.5%. These gains helped offset the expected decline in Humira sales, which fell 25.9% to $1.25 billion as the drug continues to face biosimilar competition.

"2025 was another outstanding year for AbbVie. We delivered record net sales in just the second full year following the U.S. Humira loss of exclusivity, underscoring the strength of our diversified growth platform," said Robert Michael, chairman and chief executive officer.

Looking ahead, AbbVie's full-year 2026 adjusted earnings guidance is $14.37-$14.57 per share, above the analyst consensus of $14.22. This outlook excludes any impact from acquired IPR&D and milestone expenses.

The neuroscience portfolio also showed strong growth, with revenues increasing 17.9% to $2.96 billion. Vraylar sales rose 10.5% to $1.02 billion, while Botox Therapeutic grew 13.4% to $990 million.

The company's oncology portfolio saw a slight decline of 1.5% to $1.66 billion, with Imbruvica sales dropping 20.8%, partially offset by growth in Venclexta and Elahere revenues.
