Peter Thiel Gets Very Long Oil Through Oil Services HOLDRs (OIH)
Peter Thiel is getting very long oil. A filing today from his Clarium Capital hedge fund showed that he built up a new 6,786,700 share stake in Oil Services HOLDRs (NYSE: OIH). This is 33.8% of the outstanding shares. Thiel did not have a stake in OIH at the quarter ended 12/31/08.
The value of the holdings is $650 million.
