Google (GOOG) Android-Equipped Tablets Attain Parity with Apple (AAPL) iPad

Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Android is taking more and more market share from Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) in the tablet market.
Digitimes cites ABI Research in saying that Android tablet shipments surpassed that of the iPad for the first time in the second quarter. Overall, tablet shipments rose 23 percent in Q2, led by 7-inch display versions. Apple's 7.9-inch iPad mini accounted for about 60 percent of the company's shipments last quarter.
Tablet end-user revenues were $12.3 billion, with Apple accounting for just half of that for the first time ever.
Average selling price (ASP) for the iPad fell 17 percent for the year ending June 2013, while Android tablet ASPs have risen 17 percent
Google is up while Apple is negative Monday.
