According to reports from Fox Business Network's Charlie Gasparino, Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) executives have started "serious discussions" about spinning off at least a part of its massive private equity division.
Goldman doesn't release the market value of the division, but filings show the firm has raised $82 billion in private equity funds, including $11.5 billion from its executives.
