Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) popularity amongst teens is slipping once again.
Bloomberg, citing a report from Frank N. Magid Associates, said the 13- to 17-year-old age demographic that uses Facebook fell from 94 percent in 2013 down to 88 percent this year. The number is also down from 95 percent in 2012.
At the same time, Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) and other messaging applications have seen a rise in usage. Twitter saw a 2 point increase to 48 percent this year, for instance.
Facebook has still seen growth, though its key audience is older than other social media platforms and apps. About 55 percent of Facebook users are 37 or younger, versus 83 percent for the Kik messaging app and 86 percent for Snapchat.
Shares of Facebook are indicated for a higher open Friday.
