On today's episode of Stop Trading!, Jim Cramer and Street Signs host, Erin Burnett, discussed Visa's (NYSE: V) IPO, which will price its offering tonight in order to begin trading on the NYSE tomorrow.
Cramer told his CNBC audience to call their broker and just buy 100 shares of Visa, that is, "if you can get in at $42 or lower."
If investors can't get into Visa before the IPO tomorrow, Cramer recommended buying shares of MasterCard (NYSE: MA). Cramer insisted that MasterCard should have been down today, as he expected traders to jump from that boat to the Visa boat, but shares of MasterCard are up about $8 to $209 just before the market close.
Cramer has been a proponent of MasterCard since its IPO in May of '06, when the stock opened for public trading just shy of $45. At the time, however, while Cramer was indeed behind MasterCard, he was more concerned with picking on "Vonage (NYSE: VG) the Dog", (which went public around the same time) rather than emphasizing how great of a company MasterCard could be.
