Apple (AAPL) to Ship 20 million iPhones in Q4 - Lazard

Lazard Capital analysts see Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPhone shipments pushing past 20 million units in the fourth quarter, due to the strength of smartphone in China and the U.S.
The firm also sees shipments of the iPad around 6.6 million units, as the tablet computer continues to be the “must-have” gadget on the market.
The views from the analyst are a positive Broadcom Corp. (NASDAQ: BRCM), which Lazard sees the company having $7 worth of silicon in the iPhone and $10 in content in the iPad.
The iPad is also seeing increased interest from advertisers, as Appleinsider reported Tuesday that the Apple saw ad requests surge 76 percent to August from July, according to the ad firm Millennial Media. The firm also said ad requests for Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG) Android powered smartphones jumped 39 percent in the same period.
Shares of Apple are up 59 cents to $287.45 in midday market movement on Wednesday, after dipping slightly on Tuesday when it was rumored that COO Tim Cook would leave for a position at Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE: HPQ).
