Eastern Bankshares to join S&P SmallCap 600 index effective june 22

Eastern Bankshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: EBC) will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 Index effective prior to the opening of trading on June 22, 2026, the company announced.

The S&P SmallCap 600 Index is maintained by S&P Dow Jones Indices and includes companies that meet certain criteria such as financial performance, market capitalization, and liquidity.

"Our addition to the S&P SmallCap 600 Index reflects the strength of our business and continued focus on delivering long-term value for customers and shareholders," said Denis Sheahan, Chief Executive Officer. "Inclusion in the index enhances Eastern's visibility among institutional investors and recognizes the significant progress we have made executing our growth strategy since becoming a public company in 2020."

Eastern Bankshares is the holding company for Eastern Bank, which was founded in 1818. The bank operates more than 125 branch locations serving communities in eastern Massachusetts, southern and coastal New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. As of March 31, 2026, Eastern had approximately $30.6 billion in assets.

The company provides banking and wealth management solutions through its Cambridge Trust Wealth Management and Private Banking Divisions, which include an independent investment adviser with $9.8 billion in assets under management.
