Strongbridge Biopharma (SBBP) Sees IPO Offering Size of 4.25M Shares

Strongbridge Biopharma plc (Nasdaq: SBBP) filed an amended registration with the U.S. SEC for an IPO of up to 4.25 million shares of its common stock. The company will list on the Nasdaq under the ticker, "SBBP."

The offering is being made via BofA Merrill Lynch, Stifel, JMP Securities, Roth Capital Partners, and Arctic Securities.

Strongbridge Biopharma is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development, in-licensing, acquisition and eventual commercialization of multiple complementary products and product candidates within franchises that target rare diseases.

The company continued: Our primary focus has been to build our rare endocrine franchise, which includes product candidates for the treatment of endogenous Cushing's syndrome and acromegaly, two rare diseases with a high unmet need for innovative treatment options. Given the well-identified and concentrated prescriber base addressing our target markets, we believe we can use a small, focused sales force to effectively market our products, if approved, in the United States, the European Union and other key global markets. We believe that our ability to execute on this strategy is enhanced by the significant clinical development and commercial experience of key members of our management team. We also intend to identify and in-license or acquire products or product candidates that would be complementary to our existing rare endocrine franchise or that would form the basis for new rare disease franchises. We believe this approach will enable us to maximize our commercial potential by further leveraging our existing resources and expertise.
