Volkswagen names new head of development in China
Volkswagen revealed Monday that the company’s board has appointed Thomas Ulbrich, a current member of the Board of Management overseeing New Mobility since 2022, as the new Head of Development for the Volkswagen Group in China.
This leadership transition is slated to take effect on April 1, 2024, according to an official statement from the German automotive giant.
In tandem with this change, Volkswagen outlined a restructuring plan for its leadership framework. The Board of Management will undergo a reduction from eight members to seven in the future.
Simultaneously, the company will streamline its organizational structure by merging the "New Mobility" and "Technical Development" divisions, a move aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, as detailed in the statement.
