Electric vehicle giant Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) said in a filing Monday that it has appointed Vaibhav Taneja as its new Chief Financial Officer.
Taneja, who has served as Tesla’s Chief Accounting Officer since 2019, will take on the position in addition to his current role as Chief Accounting Officer at the company.
Taneja will replace Zachary Kirkhorn, who stepped down on August 4 after a 13-year tenure with the Elon Musl-led company. The last four years at Tesla saw Kirkhorn serve as its so-called "Master of Coin" and Chief Financial Officer.
"During his tenure, Tesla has seen tremendous expansion and growth," the electric vehicle company said. "Tesla thanks Mr. Kirkhorn for his significant contributions."
Kirkhorn will continue at Tesla through the end of the year to support the transition.
Tesla shares are down more than 2% at the time of writing Monday.
