Fisker Inc. (NYSE: FSR) announced Thursday that the American electric automaker intends to open its first retail lounge in Shanghai, China, as the company continues the roll-out of its China business.
“China is an incredibly important market for us,” said CEO Henrik Fisker.
“We are delivering vehicles in the US and Europe, but our goal since the company was established in 2016 has been to operate as a fully global firm.”
Fisker opened its first office in China in 2022. This year, they shared more about their plans, including a delivery center in 2023.
The Fisker Lounge in Shanghai is part of their strategy. These lounges are in busy shopping areas, helping customers see and learn more about Fisker vehicles.
“The Chinese customer deserves as much choice as possible, and we intend to provide it to them.” Added Fisker.
The company plans to open its Shanghai Lounge, situated on Taicang Road, in December 2023 or January 2024.
Shares of FSR are down 2.01% in afternoon trading on Thursday.
