Origin Agritech sets 2026 priorities at annual conference

Origin Agritech Ltd. (NASDAQ: SEED) held its annual Research & Development and Operations Management Conference at its Beijing headquarters from November 22-24, 2025, according to a company statement.

The three-day conference brought together senior management, department heads, subsidiary leadership, and agricultural research experts to review fiscal year 2025 performance and establish operational priorities for 2026.

The company established a corporate values framework using the ORIGIN acronym: One Goal, Real Value, Integrity, Great Execution, Innovation Drive, and Noble Pursuit. The conference focused on three core areas for 2026: advancing the biological breeding platform through AI integration, optimizing operational infrastructure, and expanding market penetration.

"This conference marks an important inflection point in Origin's strategic evolution," said CEO Weibin Yan. "We have established clear operational priorities for 2026 focused on three core areas: advancing our biological breeding platform through AI integration, optimizing our operational infrastructure, and expanding market penetration."

Dr. Gengchen Han, Chairman of the Board, presented on AI-assisted breeding models during the conference. Vice President and Head of R&D Bill Deng discussed the company's precision breeding technology development strategy.

The conference included participation from agricultural research leaders representing Chinese academic institutions, including professors from China Agricultural University, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Shanxi Normal University, and Henan Agricultural University.

Finance Director Quanguo Du presented an analysis of the company's 2025 financial performance, while department leaders from marketing, production, quality control, human resources, and investor relations outlined their 2026 initiatives.

Origin Agritech, founded in 1997 and headquartered in Beijing, develops agricultural biotechnology and crop seed technologies. The company's phytase corn was the first transgenic corn to receive China's Bio-Safety Certificate from the Ministry of Agriculture.
