Nucor projects Q3 earnings between $2.05-$2.15 per share

Nucor Corporation (NYSE: NUE) announced guidance for its third quarter ending October 4, 2025, projecting earnings between $2.05 and $2.15 per diluted share. The company reported $2.60 per diluted share in the second quarter of 2025 and $1.05 per diluted share in the third quarter of 2024.

Consensus estimates were for third quarter EPS of $2.59.

The steel manufacturer expects earnings to decrease across all three operating segments compared to the second quarter. The steel mills segment faces lower volumes and margin compression, while the steel products segment anticipates higher average costs per ton with stable pricing and volumes. The raw materials segment expects reduced profitability in scrap processing operations.

During the third quarter, Nucor repurchased approximately 0.7 million shares at an average price of $140.46 per share. Year-to-date, the company has repurchased 4.8 million shares at an average price of $126.26 per share and returned approximately $985 million to stockholders through share repurchases and dividend payments.

The company plans to release third quarter earnings after market close on October 27, 2025, followed by a conference call on October 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time.

Nucor operates steel manufacturing facilities in the United States, Canada and Mexico, producing various steel products including bars, beams, sheet and plate. The company also processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap through The David J. Joseph Company and its affiliates.
