Kenvue Inc. (NYSE: KVUE) announced that its board of directors appointed Kirk Perry as interim chief executive officer, effective immediately, while the company reviews strategic alternatives to unlock shareholder value.
Perry, a current Kenvue director with over 30 years of consumer products experience, replaces Thibaut Mongon, who departed the company and stepped down from the board. Perry previously served as president and CEO of Circana, a data analytics provider, and held executive positions at Google and Procter & Gamble.
The board has established a Strategic Review Committee to oversee an ongoing comprehensive review of potential alternatives, including optimizing the company's brand portfolio and improving operational performance. Centerview Partners and McKinsey & Company are advising on the strategic review process.
Kenvue also reported preliminary second quarter 2025 financial results, showing net sales declined 4.0% and organic sales fell 4.2% compared to the prior year period. Diluted earnings per share ranged from $0.21 to $0.22, while adjusted diluted earnings per share was $0.28 to $0.29.
The consumer health company, which owns brands including Aveeno, Band-Aid, Johnson's, Listerine, Neutrogena and Tylenol, plans to report full second quarter results on August 7, 2025. Executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles is assisting in the search for a permanent CEO.
Larry Merlo, Kenvue's board chair, stated the actions aim to ensure the company has the right leadership and operational foundation to accelerate profitable growth and deliver value to shareholders.
