Genprex Inc. (NASDAQ: GNPX) issued a stockholder letter and corporate update on August 4, 2025, summarizing achievements across its oncology and diabetes programs and outlining milestones for 2025 and beyond.

The Austin, Texas-based clinical-stage gene therapy company reported that patient treatment continues in two lung cancer clinical trials. The company develops therapies for patients with cancer and diabetes.

"Genprex has made significant progress across our technology programs this past year, and I am enthusiastic about Genprex's future as we continue to advance our clinical development program while maintaining streamlined, focused strategies that are important to build value across the entire company," said Ryan Confer, President and Chief Executive Officer.

The company's oncology program uses its Oncoprex Delivery System, which encapsulates gene-expressing plasmids using lipid-based nanoparticles. The lead product candidate, Reqorsa Gene Therapy, is being evaluated in clinical trials for non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer treatment.

Both of Genprex's lung cancer clinical programs have received Fast Track Designation from the FDA, and the small cell lung cancer program has received FDA Orphan Drug Designation.

For diabetes treatment, Genprex's approach uses an AAV vector to deliver Pdx1 and MafA genes directly to the pancreas. The GPX-002 therapy aims to transform alpha cells into functional beta-like cells for Type 1 diabetes and rejuvenate beta cells for Type 2 diabetes.

The full stockholder letter is available on the company's website, according to the press release statement.
