China Automotive Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CAAS) announced the implementation of its 2026-2030 strategic plan, which began January 1, 2026, according to a company press release.
The plan targets total sales exceeding 20 billion yuan by 2030, including VAT. The company outlined three strategic pillars to achieve this goal: deepening global operations, strengthening technological leadership, and building exceptional systems.
Under the global expansion strategy, CAAS plans to accelerate construction of a "China + N" manufacturing and supply chain network while maintaining its domestic steering market position. The company aims to strengthen its presence in North America, South America, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
For technological advancement, the company will increase research and development investment focusing on steer-by-wire and rear-wheel steering technologies. CAAS also plans to expand beyond steering systems into areas such as braking systems.
The operational excellence pillar centers on a "zero-defect" quality culture and platform-based, lean, and automated manufacturing systems.
"The release of this strategic plan not only outlines the direction for the Group's development over the next five years but also conveys a firm and clear long-term commitment to global customers and partners," said Qizhou Wu, Chief Executive Officer of CAAS.
The strategic plan was developed by the Hubei Henglong Enterprise Group, a business consortium established by CAAS major shareholders that includes CAAS as its core member along with affiliated companies.
CAAS operates as a power steering components and systems supplier in China through sixteen Sino-foreign joint ventures and wholly owned subsidiaries. The company serves customers including China FAW Group, Dongfeng Auto Group, BYD Auto Company, and international clients Stellantis and Ford Motor Company.
