3M beats Q4 expectations, issues in-line 2026 guidance

Investing.com -- 3M Co. (NYSE: MMM) reported fourth-quarter adjusted earnings that exceeded analyst expectations, with shares falling 1.4% following the announcement.
The industrial conglomerate posted adjusted earnings per share of $1.83 for the fourth quarter, beating the analyst estimate of $1.80. Revenue came in at $6.1 billion, surpassing the consensus estimate of $6.01 billion. On an organic basis, adjusted sales grew 2.2% YoY.
"2025 was an important year for 3M as we build a strong foundation that is reshaping our operating model and driving sustainable value creation," said William Brown, 3M Chairman and CEO. "Our accelerated pace of innovation and commercial execution positions us to outperform the macro environment again in 2026."
The company reported an adjusted operating margin of 21.1% for the quarter, representing an improvement of 140 basis points compared to the same period last year. GAAP operating margin was 13.0%, down 510 basis points YoY.
For the full year 2025, 3M achieved adjusted EPS of $8.06, up 10% from the previous year, while full-year adjusted sales reached $24.3 billion, representing 2.7% growth with organic sales up 2.1%.
Looking ahead, 3M issued fiscal 2026 adjusted EPS guidance in the range of $8.50 to $8.70, which aligns with the analyst consensus of $8.61. The company expects adjusted total sales growth of approximately 4% with adjusted organic sales growth of around 3%.
