Apr. ADP Employment Gain: 119K, vs. Cons. 170K
ADP employment gain for the month of April comes in at 119,000, vs. the economist estimate of 170,000. The prior month reading was revised lower from 209,000 to 201,000.
The report comes ahead of initial jobless claims for the week ended April 28th on Thursday of this week and the all-important nonfarm payrolls reading on Friday. Economists are currently expecting a 161,000 addition in nonfarm payrolls, a 167,000 gain in private-sector payrolls, and a 21,000 gain in manufacturing jobs.
