American Airlines (AAL) Tops Q4 EPS by 24c

American Airlines (NASDAQ: AAL) reported Q4 EPS of ($3.86), $0.24 better than the analyst estimate of ($4.10). Revenue for the quarter came in at $4 billion versus the consensus estimate of $3.88 billion.

Demand and capacity outlook

The company will continue to match its forward capacity with observed bookings trends. Compared to the first quarter of 2019, American expects its first-quarter system capacity to be down 45%, with total revenue expected to be down 60 to 65%
