Bitcoin Suddenly Spikes Above $9,000 Then Erases Gain

Bitcoin spiked above $9,000 Thursday around mid-day. Prior to the spike it was trading slightly better than $8,700. The digital currency is currently up 4.4%.

Update:

Before half past noon, the gain were erased. Bitcoin remains higher on the day, up 0.85% at $8,720.
