Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT) announced two artificial intelligence solutions designed to optimize commercial building energy management and operations.
The company introduced AI Control, a system that automatically adjusts HVAC operations based on building data including occupancy, weather forecasts and energy usage. According to the company, AI Control can reduce heating and cooling energy costs by up to 25% and carbon emissions by up to 40%.
The second product, ARIA, functions as an AI building agent that provides facility teams with conversational access to building insights and maintenance recommendations through mobile or desktop interfaces in over 14 languages.
"We've conducted hundreds of thousands of energy audits in commercial buildings and most operate about 30% inefficiently," said Holly Paeper, President, Commercial HVAC Americas at Trane Technologies.
AI Control integrates with Trane's existing Tracer SC+ Building Automation System and Trane Autonomous Control, eliminating the need for additional equipment. ARIA enables building managers to diagnose issues and prioritize maintenance tasks.
Both solutions were developed by the BrainBox AI Lab, Trane Technologies' digital innovation division focused on heating and cooling solutions.
The company cited data showing 75% of U.S. commercial buildings are over 25 years old, often operating with outdated systems amid a skilled labor shortage in the facilities management sector.
Trane Technologies operates through its Trane and Thermo King brands, providing climate solutions for buildings, homes and transportation applications.
