Tenon Medical Inc. (NASDAQ: TNON) announced it received notices of allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for multiple patent applications expected to issue in 2026. The company said these patents will strengthen protection around systems and methods for its Catamaran SI Joint Fusion System.
The medical device company reported it received 10 patents in 2025, including five from the USPTO and five internationally. Tenon anticipates additional patent applications will be issued in 2026.
The company expanded its intellectual property through the acquisition of SIVantage's SImmetry and SImmetry+ lateral SI joint fusion systems, which are supported by 16 issued U.S. patents. The acquisition complements Tenon's existing Catamaran platform for treating sacroiliac joint disorders.
Tenon's current patent portfolio includes 29 issued U.S. patents, nine issued international patents, and 31 pending U.S. and foreign patent applications. The company develops medical devices for treating sacro-pelvic disorders.
"Building and protecting a strong global patent portfolio ensures that the innovation we are pioneering remains differentiated and defensible in a competitive market," said Richard Ginn, chief operating officer and co-founder.
Tenon launched its Catamaran SI Joint Fusion System nationally in October 2022. The system uses a single titanium implant designed to provide a pathway away from neural and vascular structures. The company focuses on primary SI joint procedures, revision procedures, and augmenting spinal fusion.
