TOMI Environmental Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: TOMZ) completed the first installation of its SteraMist Integration System – Standalone (SIS-SA) product at a pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organization.

The Frederick, Maryland-based disinfection company announced that the installation involved retrofitting an existing isolator in collaboration with an isolator manufacturing company. The pharmaceutical CDMO had previously purchased several Surface Unit handheld systems from TOMI in 2023 before acquiring the SIS-SA with a 90-degree applicator in the first quarter of this year.

The SIS-SA is part of the SteraMist Integrated Systems product line that TOMI launched in the second half of last year. The system uses the company's ionized hydrogen peroxide technology for pharmaceutical isolator applications.

TOMI expects to generate more than $500,000 in revenue from the SIS-SA product in fiscal 2025, according to the company's press release statement. Additional installations are scheduled for later this year.

"The successful installation of our first SIS-SA system marks an important achievement and is a milestone in our strategy to expand our footprint in the life sciences industry," said Dr. Halden Shane, CEO and Chairman of TOMI Environmental Solutions.

The company cited market research indicating the life science sterility testing market is projected to reach $3.4 billion by 2031 with a compound annual growth rate of 12.4%.

TOMI's Binary Ionization Technology platform was developed under a defense grant in association with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. The technology uses hydrogen peroxide as its active ingredient for disinfection applications across various sectors including hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, and commercial buildings.
