Patterson-UTI operates 93 drilling rigs in September

Patterson-UTI Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: PTEN) reported an average of 93 drilling rigs operating in the United States during September 2025, according to a company statement. For the three months ended September 30, 2025, the company averaged 95 drilling rigs operating domestically.

The Houston-based company noted that the reported figures represent drilling rigs earning revenue under drilling contracts in the United States. Patterson-UTI cautioned that multiple factors beyond average drilling rig counts can affect operating results, and that trends in rig numbers may not necessarily indicate financial performance trends.

The company stated it plans to continue providing monthly updates on drilling rig operations shortly after each month ends. Patterson-UTI provides drilling and completion services to oil and natural gas exploration companies in the United States and select international markets, including contract drilling, integrated well completion services, directional drilling, and specialized drill bit solutions across various global regions.
