Outset Medical appoints first Chief Nursing Officer

Outset Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ: OM) announced the appointment of Brittni McGill as its first Chief Nursing Officer, a newly created position at the medical technology company. McGill will lead clinical education and support programs for the dialysis nursing community.

McGill brings 18 years of nursing and hospital executive experience to the role. She previously led acute care clinical services for a 350-bed hospital and managed more than 1,400 employees. Her background includes developing and accrediting multiple service lines and clinical programs.

During her previous role, McGill led her hospital's transition from outsourced to insourced dialysis services using Outset's Tablo system. The company stated this transition resulted in a 98% successful treatment rate, a 75% decrease in central line blood stream infections, and cost savings.

"Our entire Outset team understands and celebrates the critical role the nursing community and specifically, nurse executives, play in ensuring successful patient outcomes across the healthcare spectrum, particularly in dialysis," said Dr. Michael Aragon, Chief Medical Officer.

McGill is pursuing a Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Baylor University and holds a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma. She is affiliated with the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Nurses Association.

Outset Medical develops dialysis technology designed to reduce treatment costs and complexity. The company's Tablo Hemodialysis System is FDA-cleared for use in hospitals and homes.
