Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) announced the general availability of Oracle Health Connection Hub for U.S. healthcare providers. The platform provides a single console for managing data sharing, auditing, and governance across Oracle Health interoperability services.
The solution aims to address challenges health systems face when managing multiple tools for sharing clinical and financial data with healthcare providers, government entities, and payers. Oracle Health Connection Hub operates on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and offers healthcare organizations a comprehensive data governance and reporting console.
The platform currently supports Oracle Health Clinical Data Exchange, Oracle Health Information Network for national interoperability networks, and connections with the Social Security Administration for disability benefits processing. Oracle plans to add connectivity to lab, immunization, and prescription networks in the future.
"Oracle Health Connection Hub empowers providers to customize the amount and types of data they choose to share with other providers and payers, which saves time and money while enhancing patient care," said Seema Verma, executive vice president and general manager of Oracle Health and Life Sciences.
The platform includes features for controlling data access, removing permissions when needed, and providing detailed audit trails for policy compliance. Healthcare organizations can view and manage which organizations have access to specific data types through the consolidated interface.
Early adoption of the platform's Social Security Administration integration has shown results in disability benefits processing. Sean Fry, executive advisor for Health Information Technology and Electronic Records at the Office of Disability Policy, stated that electronic data exchange can reduce typical application processing time for disability benefit allowances by almost 50 percent.
Oracle Health Connection Hub is available to all Oracle Health customers through Oracle Cloud Console at no additional charge. The platform will support participation in the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement when Oracle Health Information Network becomes a designated Qualified Health Information Network.
