Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) announced the general availability of Oracle Construction and Engineering Advisor for Safety, an artificial intelligence solution designed to predict and prevent construction site accidents.
The software uses a pre-trained safety model built on data from more than 10,000 project-years across various construction project types and locations. The system provides weekly risk forecasts to help construction firms identify high-risk projects and allocate safety resources accordingly.
The solution integrates data from multiple sources including safety observations, incident reports, payroll data, and project schedules from Oracle's existing construction management platforms Aconex and Primavera Unifier Accelerator, as well as third-party systems.
"Advisor for Safety marks a significant step forward in safety management, giving construction companies and owners the tools to predict and prevent incidents," said Mark Webster, senior vice president and general manager of Oracle Infrastructure Industries.
Oracle also introduced a new Observation capability within its existing construction platforms that allows field teams to capture safety data through mobile devices or web browsers. The feature standardizes data collection to improve the accuracy of predictive models.
The system provides prioritized recommendations for high-risk projects, such as increasing supervision oversight in specific areas. It also offers cross-project analytics for executive decision-making and sharing safety practices across multiple projects.
Josh Kanner, senior director of Analytics & AI at Oracle Construction and Engineering, stated that the solution has shown customer reductions in incident rates by up to 50% and workers' compensation costs by up to 75% in the first year, according to Dodge Data & Analytics Safety Smart Market report from 2020 and customer documentation.
The announcement was made as part of Oracle's construction and engineering software portfolio, which serves asset owners and project leaders in the construction industry.
