Curiosity Inc. (NASDAQ: CURI) announced a multi-tier distribution agreement with DIRECTV that expands access to its factual entertainment content across millions of U.S. households.
The deal includes two distinct offerings on DIRECTV's platform. Curiosity Stream, the company's subscription video-on-demand service, is now available within DIRECTV's premium content lineup. Curiosity NOW, the company's free ad-supported streaming channel, launched on DIRECTV's FAST platform called MyFree DIRECTV.
Curiosity NOW provides continuous factual programming covering topics from history and adventure to science and technology. The FAST channel operates with advertising support rather than subscription fees.
"This is a pivotal moment for Curiosity as we expand our U.S. reach across FAST and SVOD in one comprehensive agreement," said Jay Sodha, Curiosity's VP of Business Development and Partnerships.
The agreement provides Curiosity access to DIRECTV's distribution network, which includes millions of connected devices and set-top boxes across streaming and satellite services. The partnership allows DIRECTV subscribers to access Curiosity's content library through both subscription and ad-supported models.
Curiosity operates as a factual entertainment company with content spanning documentaries, series, and specials on science, nature, history, technology, society, and lifestyle topics. The company reports having millions of subscribers worldwide and offers services in more than 175 countries.
