Bio-Techne Corporation (NASDAQ: TECH) announced the launch and first shipment of its enhanced Leo System for protein analysis. The Minneapolis-based life sciences company said the system combines chemiluminescence detection with dual-channel fluorescence in near-infrared and infrared ranges.
The enhanced Leo System can analyze up to 24 targets per sample and process up to 100 capillaries within three hours, according to the company's press release. The system adds fluorescence detection to existing molecular weight separation, RePlex, and resampling capabilities.
The system supports 21 CFR Part 11 compliance requirements for regulated environments. Bio-Techne reported generating over $1.2 billion in net sales in fiscal 2025.
"Leo represents the future of clinical research requiring absolute quantitation," said Alexandre Lucas, founder and manager of We-Met research group at the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research. Lucas reported achieving results with 5-6% variability using the system.
Will Geist, president of Bio-Techne's Protein Sciences Segment, said the system delivers precision and efficiency in protein analysis with built-in compliance features.
The Leo System uses Simple Western Technology and enables researchers to simultaneously quantify targets with different expression levels and assess various protein forms in the same capillary. The system can multiplex same-weight targets in a single run.
