Assertio Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ASRT) appointed director Mark L. Reisenauer as chief executive officer, effective immediately, according to a company statement. Current CEO Brendan P. O'Grady will depart the company as part of the leadership transition.

Reisenauer joined Assertio's board in January 2025 and brings more than 30 years of experience in pharmaceutical commercialization. He previously served as president of U.S. commercial operations at Astellas Pharmaceuticals Inc., where he oversaw sales of nearly $5 billion across oncology, specialty and hospital products. Before Astellas, he held senior roles at Micromet Inc. and Abbott Laboratories.

Board Chair Heather L. Mason stated the board determined Reisenauer was suited to lead the company through its next phase, citing his experience in building franchises and products in oncology and specialty spaces.

"I believe Assertio has significant potential and I look forward to working closely with our Board, leadership team and employees to reach more patients with our medicines and create value for shareholders," Reisenauer said.

The Lake Forest, Illinois-based pharmaceutical company also announced it will report third quarter 2025 financial results on November 10, 2025, after market close. Management will host a conference call at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time the same day to discuss results and provide business updates. The company expects to update guidance within its current range during the call.

Assertio focuses on products in oncology, neurology and pain management. O'Grady expressed gratitude for his time leading the company and acknowledged employee contributions during his tenure.
