Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ: AKAM) announced the launch of Akamai Partner Connect, a consolidated global partner program that replaces its previous partner structure with a single framework. The program supports resale, distribution, technical solution enablement, services, and referrals.
The new program introduces region-specific tiering and enhanced incentives aligned with strategic offerings. It consolidates multiple go-to-market tracks into one platform designed to reduce complexity and streamline partner engagement models across geographies.
"Partners have told us they want simpler engagement, clearer incentives, and more flexibility at the local level," said Paul Joseph, Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Services at Akamai.
The program integrates all partner types including resellers, distributors, service providers, technology service distributors, and referral partners into a single global framework. Qualification criteria have been decentralized to reflect market-specific conditions.
Key features include localized tiering that reflects market maturity and rewards partner performance at the regional level, incentives aligned with strategic solution areas, and integrated training and technical resources. The program also opens opportunities for independent software vendors to join the Akamai Partner ecosystem.
Existing cloud services partners will remain supported through their dedicated agreements, while resellers can continue to benefit from volume-based discounts.
Akamai Partner Connect will launch globally in Q3 2025, according to the company statement.
