AgEagle Colombian partner gets drone training certification
AgEagle Aerial Systems Inc. (NYSE: UAVS) announced that its Colombian distributor eCompass S.A. received certification from Colombia's civil aviation authority to provide advanced training for the eBee VISION drone.
The Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia certified eCompass as the first company authorized to conduct advanced operations training for the fixed-wing drone, according to a company statement. The certification covers training for Beyond Visual Line of Sight flights and night operations used in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions.
eCompass has served as AgEagle's exclusive distributor in Colombia since 2020, supplying eBee X, eBee TAC, and eBee VISION drones. The company provides unmanned aerial systems to meet demand in the Colombian market.
The eBee VISION drone recently received Blue UAS Cleared status, meaning the U.S. Department of Defense has vetted and approved it for use in sensitive operations. The drone performs long-range flights beyond visual line of sight, night operations, and data collection.
"This milestone is a result of AgEagle's focus on advancing drone technology for high level, real-world results supported by eCompass's commitment to operational excellence," said AgEagle CEO Bill Irby.
AgEagle, headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, develops drone technology and software for agriculture, public safety, and civil engineering industries. The company provides drones, sensors, and software solutions globally.
