Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has acquired IAMConcepts, a Toronto-based company specializing in identity and access management services, according to a company statement. The acquisition expands Accenture's cybersecurity capabilities in Canada across financial services, power utilities, mining and transportation sectors.

Founded in 2013, IAMConcepts provides identity governance, privileged access management and customer identity services. The company has completed hundreds of projects for clients including major Canadian banks, insurance companies, higher education institutions and critical infrastructure organizations.

"As AI accelerates the threat landscape, organizations must rethink their approach to identity security," said Paolo Dal Cin, global lead for Accenture Cybersecurity. The acquisition combines IAMConcepts' technical skills with Accenture's cybersecurity services to help clients secure digital identities.

Accenture research indicates 67% of organizations continue using legacy identity and access management systems, limiting their ability to support modern security requirements. The report highlights the importance of identity security for digital trust and business growth.

"We are excited to join the Accenture team, expanding our capabilities to help protect clients," said Fahad Kabir, CEO at IAMConcepts.

The acquisition represents Accenture's 22nd cybersecurity purchase since 2015, following recent acquisitions of CyberCX, Morphus and MNEMO Mexico. IAMConcepts was recognized in the 2024 KuppingerCole North American Leadership Compass report on identity and access management systems integrators.

Accenture has been positioned as a leader in Everest Group's Identity and Access Management Services assessment. The company did not disclose financial terms of the transaction.
