AVS Bio acquires ImmunoPrecise Antibodies Europe unit

AVS Bio, a portfolio company of Arlington Capital Partners, acquired ImmunoPrecise Antibodies (Europe) B.V. from ImmunoPrecise Antibodies Ltd. (NASDAQ: IPA), according to a company statement.

The acquired unit operates facilities in Utrecht and Oss in the Netherlands, providing antibody discovery, engineering, and characterization services. IPA Europe also offers recombinant protein expression and scalable protein production for research and pre-clinical applications.

AVS Bio, headquartered in Norwich, Connecticut, supplies laboratory products and services for vaccine, therapeutic, and biologics development. The company operates over 20 facilities across North America and Europe.

The acquisition expands AVS Bio's European operations and adds capabilities in antibody discovery and protein production to its service portfolio. IPA Europe will continue operating under its existing management as part of AVS Bio's network.

Arlington Capital Partners is a Washington, D.C.-area private investment firm that specializes in government-regulated industries. The firm is currently investing from its $3.8 billion Fund VI and has invested in over 175 companies since 1999.

ImmunoPrecise Antibodies Ltd. develops biotherapeutics using proprietary technologies including its LENSai platform for biologics discovery. Edgemont Partners served as exclusive sell-side advisor to ImmunoPrecise Antibodies Ltd. in the transaction.
