i-80 GOLD appoints three new independent directors to board

i-80 Gold Corp. (NYSE American: IAUX) announced the appointment of three independent directors to its board, effective February 1, 2026. Ronald Butler Jr., Michael Jalonen, and Steven Yopps will join the company's board, expanding it to nine members.

Butler, a certified public accountant, brings over 30 years of experience in audit, financial planning, and corporate governance. He previously served as Managing Partner at Ernst & Young LLP in Arizona from 2008 until his retirement in 2024, and also held the role of U.S. Mining & Metals Leader from 2022 to 2024.

Jalonen, a chartered financial analyst, has nearly 40 years of mining and capital markets experience. He worked as Managing Director and North American Senior Precious Metals Research Analyst at Bank of America Securities until his retirement in 2022, covering 30 senior and intermediate precious metals producers.

Yopps is a metallurgical engineer with more than 35 years of operational and technical experience in Nevada's gold districts. He most recently served as Vice President of Nevada Projects for AngloGold Ashanti through his retirement in 2025 and previously held senior roles at Nevada Gold Mines and Barrick Mining.

"Ron, Mike, and Steve each bring highly relevant experience and proven track records across their respective fields," said Ron Clayton, Chairman of the Board, according to the company's statement.

i-80 Gold operates as a Nevada-focused mining company with five gold projects and plans to refurbish its Lone Tree autoclave processing facility. The company describes itself as the fourth largest gold mineral resource holder in Nevada.
