Wolverine World Wide (NYSE: WWW) announced the launch of its inaugural Junior Board, comprising 11 early-career professionals selected to provide input on company initiatives and strengthen workplace culture.
The advisory body includes employees from various company offices, brands, and functions. Chandler Alberda, Digital Marketing Manager for Merrell, serves as Junior Board Chair. Other members represent brands including Saucony, Sweaty Betty, and various corporate functions.
Members were selected through an interview process evaluating leadership potential, alignment with company values, strategic thinking, communication skills, and relationship-building abilities. The group will meet monthly to address key topics and work directly with the executive team and CEO.
"With the creation of our Junior Board, we're doubling down on our commitment to developing young talent and fostering an inclusive and collaborative workplace," said Chris Hufnagel, President and CEO of Wolverine Worldwide.
The announcement follows the company receiving its first Great Place To Work Certification. According to the company, 88% of U.S.-based employees said Wolverine Worldwide is a great workplace, which is 33 percentage points above the average company.
Wolverine Worldwide was also recognized by Forbes as one of America's Dream Employers and America's Best Midsize Employers, and by Inspiring Workplaces as one of the Most Inspiring Workplaces in North America.
The Rockford, Michigan-based company designs and markets footwear and apparel brands including Merrell, Saucony, Sweaty Betty, Hush Puppies, and Wolverine. The company's products are sold in approximately 170 countries and territories.
