Trex Company (NYSE: TREX) appointed Irene Tasi as an independent member of its board of directors, effective immediately, according to a company statement.

Tasi brings over 25 years of leadership experience in global industrial and building product sectors. She currently serves as Chief Transformation Officer at PPG, where she leads enterprise-wide transformation and growth initiatives. During her tenure at PPG, she has held roles including Senior Vice President of Global Industrial Coatings and the company's first Chief Growth Officer, with responsibility for enterprise strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and digital transformation.

Prior to PPG, Tasi spent more than 20 years at Masco, a manufacturer of home improvement and building products, where she held senior leadership positions and supported the TopBuild spin-off.

Tasi will serve on the Audit Committee and Compensation Committee of the board. Following her appointment, the Trex board will temporarily comprise eleven directors, ten of whom are independent.

The company disclosed that Ronald Kaplan, a director since 2008, intends to retire from the board and will not stand for re-election at the company's 2026 Annual Meeting of Shareholders. The board will be reduced to ten directors following that meeting.

Trex Company manufactures wood-alternative decking and railing products and is based in Winchester, Virginia.
