Trex Company (NYSE: TREX) announced the appointment of B. Andrew Rose as an independent member of its board of directors, effective immediately. Rose will serve on the audit and compensation committees, bringing the total board size to ten directors, with nine being independent.
Rose brings over 30 years of business leadership experience to the composite decking manufacturer. He previously served as president and chief executive officer of Worthington Enterprises, a designer and manufacturer of consumer and building products, until his retirement last year. Before that role, he led Worthington Industries as president and CEO, overseeing its separation into two public companies: Worthington Enterprises and Worthington Steel.
Rose joined Worthington in December 2008 as vice president and chief financial officer, where he shaped the company's financial strategy and capital allocation before being named president and CEO in 2020. Prior to Worthington, he held partner and principal positions at several financial services firms.
Rose currently serves on the boards of Sterling Infrastructure, a provider of infrastructure and transportation solutions, and Greif Inc., an industrial packaging company.
"The Board is pleased to welcome Andy as a director," said James Cline, chairman of the board. "He is a renowned business leader and we expect that his expertise will be immediately additive to our Board."
The company also disclosed that Ronald Kaplan, who has served as a director since 2008, intends to retire from the board and will not stand for re-election at the company's 2026 annual meeting of shareholders.
