Tharimmune appoints Nancy Davis to board of directors

Tharimmune, Inc. (NASDAQ: THAR) announced the appointment of Nancy Davis to its board of directors. Davis founded the Race to Erase MS foundation in 1993 and co-founded Cure Addiction Now with her son Jason.

Davis was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1991 at age 33. Her Race to Erase MS organization has raised over $56 million for research through its "Center Without Walls" program, which facilitates collaboration among institutions including UC San Francisco, Harvard, Yale, USC, Johns Hopkins, UCLA, Cedars-Sinai, and Oregon Health Sciences University.

The foundation has funded pilot studies that contributed to the development of FDA-approved MS therapies, including B-Cell therapies such as Ocrevus, Briumvi, and Kesimpta. When Davis established the organization, no FDA-approved treatments for MS existed.

Cure Addiction Now focuses on research addressing substance use disorder by funding studies that examine both physical and emotional aspects of addiction, aiming to develop therapies for withdrawal and cravings.

"Nancy's extraordinary dedication to advancing medical research, coupled with her unique perspective as both a patient advocate and a force for scientific collaboration, is invaluable as we continue to develop innovative therapies," said Vincent LoPriore, Executive Chairman of Tharimmune's board.

Tharimmune is developing TH104, a therapeutic candidate designed to counter the effects of weaponized fentanyl for military personnel and chemical incident responders. The company is pursuing a 505(b)2 regulatory pathway for this indication.

The biotechnology company's pipeline includes additional indications for TH104, such as chronic pruritus in primary biliary cholangitis, and TH023 for autoimmune diseases.
