TELA Bio adds William Plovanic to board of directors

TELA Bio Inc. (NASDAQ: TELA) announced the appointment of William Plovanic to its board of directors, according to a company press release. Plovanic currently serves as managing director of healthcare equity research at Canaccord Genuity.
Plovanic brings over 25 years of experience in capital markets, corporate strategy and medical device operations. From 2016 to 2021, he held executive positions including chief executive officer, president and chief financial officer at Obalon Therapeutics, a formerly publicly traded medical device company that was listed on Nasdaq under the ticker OBLN.
Earlier in his career, Plovanic held senior equity research positions at First Albany and Canaccord Genuity, focusing on medical technology and life sciences. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Bradley University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
