Sage Potash Corp. (TSXV: SAGE) (OTCQB: SGPTF) announced the appointment of Stockwell Day to its board of directors. The Canadian company is developing the Sage Plain Potash Project in Utah's Paradox Basin.

Day served as a Member of Parliament from 2000 to 2011 and as a member of the Alberta Legislative Assembly from 1986 to 2000. During his federal tenure, he held positions including President of the Treasury Board of Canada, Minister of Public Safety, Minister of International Trade, Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, and Regional Minister for British Columbia.

At the provincial level, Day served 14 years in the Alberta Legislature and was Provincial Treasurer and Acting Premier from 1997 to 2000. He currently serves on the boards of RCI Capital Group and Strategem Capital.

"Mr. Day's appointment represents a significant milestone for Sage and underscores our ability to develop this critical mineral potash deposit in the US. Stockwell's experience in trade and security with successive U.S. Administrations will greatly assist Sage in today's new trade environment," said Chief Executive Officer Peter Hogendoorn.

The company plans to use solution mining techniques to extract potash from its Utah property. Sage Potash trades on the TSX Venture Exchange and OTCQB markets.
