SUI Group names former CFTC commissioner Quintenz to board

January 6, 2026 8:01 AM EST

SUI Group Holdings Limited (NASDAQ: SUIG) appointed Brian Quintenz as an independent director to its board of directors, effective January 5, 2026. Quintenz will also serve on the audit committee.

Quintenz previously served as a commissioner at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission after nominations by Presidents Obama and Trump and unanimous Senate confirmation. He also held the position of Global Head of Policy at a16z crypto and currently serves on the board of Kalshi, a CFTC-regulated event-based derivatives exchange.

The appointment follows the transition of the company's Chief Financial Officer, Joseph A. Geraci, II, from director to board observer. With Quintenz's addition, SUI Group's board comprises five members, three of whom qualify as independent under Nasdaq rules.

During his CFTC tenure, Quintenz played a role in developing regulatory frameworks for derivatives, fintech, and digital assets, including early oversight of Bitcoin futures markets. Before his public service, he founded Saeculum Capital Management and held positions at Hill-Townsend Capital and the U.S. House of Representatives.

SUI Group describes itself as the only publicly traded company with an official Sui Foundation relationship, providing exposure to the SUI blockchain through what it calls a treasury strategy focused on the digital asset.

The information is based on a company press release.
