SES appoints Joseph Cohen to board, Kaj-Erik Relander steps down
SES announced the appointment of Joseph Cohen, co-founding partner of Trilantic Europe, to its board of directors effective immediately. The Luxembourg-based satellite operator also announced that Kaj-Erik Relander has decided to step down from the board.
Cohen brings over two decades of experience from Lehman Brothers, where he served as European co-head of Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking and sat on the Investment Management Division's European operating committee. He holds a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics.
The board changes are part of SES's ongoing review to strengthen board composition with diverse expertise and industry experience, according to the company's press release.
"On behalf of SES, I would like to thank Kaj-Erik Relander for his valuable contributions and dedicated service to SES during his tenure on the Board," said Frank Esser, chairman of the board of directors. "At the same time, I am delighted to welcome Joseph Cohen as a new director. His extensive experience in private equity, corporate finance and capital markets will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our governance and drive long-term growth for SES."
SES is listed on the Paris and Luxembourg stock exchanges under ticker SESG. The company operates satellites and provides connectivity services globally, having recently completed its acquisition of Intelsat.
